I’ve always had a flair for creativity – from drawing to sculpting, my younger years were splashed with colors and shapes. Little did I know, these artistic expressions were my anchors during the stormy times, especially when battling depression. I then pivoted to engineering during college and beyond – diving deep into the worlds of hardware and software development. This time was also marked by extensive travels in my 20s and 30s, where each new destination brought pivotal experiences, shaping who I am today.
Fast forward a bit, and you’d find me immersed in computer science, earning my PhD and venturing into the realms of machine learning, with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP). My passion for personalized, project-based learning was fueled during my time as a teaching assistant and my participation in Inquiry-Based education training for STEM graduate students.
When I stepped into leadership training while managing my team, it turned out to be more than I bargained for – in a good way! It wasn’t just about leading others; it was also about working through my own stuff. This experience helped me grow not just as a boss, but as a person too, making me a more understanding and empathetic leader. This journey into self-help and healthier living led me to regular workouts (Solidcore fan here!) and a quest for better sleep and nutrition.
2023 was a pivotal year – the rise of Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered art tools like Midjourney rekindled my creative spirit. Co-creating with AI felt like a homecoming to my artistic roots. But it wasn’t just about art; it was a revelation about communication and empathy, core elements of my existence, as I discovered through studying my birth chart.
I’ve always thought communication was about public speaking, but I’m learning it’s so much more. It’s about creating content, sharing knowledge, and connecting with others – even as an introvert. Discovering tools like ChatGPT showed me that writing and blogging aren’t just dreams; they’re very real possibilities.
